ViaSat Selected as VSAT Network Supplier for Phase 4 of e-Mexico Broadband Project: New Hub and Terminals Will Expand Internet Access to More Citize
DULUTH, Ga. (BusinessWire EON) February 19, 2007 --
The e-Mexico network is one of the primary components of the e-Mexico National System, a national IT project for Mexico. The project is coordinated by the Secretaria de Comunicaciones y Transportes (SCT) with three main areas of focus: connectivity, systems, and content. The connectivity phase is now reaching the most remote towns all over the country to give Internet access to schools, public libraries, centers for adult education, rural centers of heath services, and community centers open to service for the general population.
"This Phase 4 expansion of the e-Mexico network will allow INTERDirec and ViaSat to improve its service with more bandwidth per site," said Mr. Carlos Peralta, president of INTERDirec, a subsidiary company of IUSACOM.
